Optimization of transport processes with RoutMan®
The project
Schnellecke Logistics has already gained initial experience with RoutMan® in the context of analysis workshops. The focus was on the optimization and design of transport processes at two customers of Schnellecke Logistics. With the support of LOGSOL, various scenarios were created and evaluated in RoutMan®. Based on this, the need for permanent use of the tool arose. As part of a one-day training course at the Leipzig site, the basic functions and application options of RoutMan® were explained. Using their own planning cases, the participants were able to carry out the modeling in RoutMan® themselves, drawing on tips from the trainer.

In the operational area, our in-house routes are subject to constant changes and therefore have to be adjusted regularly (sometimes monthly). With RoutMan®, we have found a tool that allows us to adjust planning quickly and easily while optimizing routes at the same time. We also use the tool in the area of business development to offer our customers the most efficient logistics processes. The software-as-a-service model enabled fast implementation and provision by LOGSOL and offers us flexible use.

The results
As a logistics service provider, Schnellecke Logistics uses RoutMan® to plan transportation processes for its customers and to support tenders. Various scenarios are modeled, e.g. to check route combinations and the shipment of different requirement types, and resources are planned. As part of a 12-month software-as-a-service model, the planners at Schnellecke Logistics can now calculate tugger train systems independently. Optimization approaches can be identified and planned at an early stage.
