From innovations to inspiration: LOGSOL’s LogiMAT review 2024!
“SHAPING CHANGE TOGETHER” – this was the headline of this year’s intralogistics trade fair LogiMAT in Stuttgart. A topic that is playing an increasingly important role in every industry: be it in terms of sustainability, digitalization, AI, modernization, efficiency and much more.
From March 19 to 21, 2024, visitors once again had 10 packed halls at Messe Stuttgart at their disposal to find out about the latest innovations and developments in the industry. Over 100,000 people interested in logistics visited the trade fair over the entire period to obtain extensive information on various logistics topics and exchange the latest trends.
In Hall 8, which specializes in “Software for warehouse management and transport, simulation, picking systems, fleet management”, we had the opportunity to present LOGSOL to the trade fair visitors. Our motto “Logistics processes must be easy to control – despite growing complexity” could not have been more appropriate for this year’s LogiMAT theme. In a time of continuous change, we help our customers to make their processes simpler, more efficient and more sustainable, thereby reducing costs in the long term
E-commerce put to the test? LOGSOL at the Logistics Expert Forum
One of our trade fair highlights this year: Our Principal Logistics and Factory Planning Bastian Scheu, gave an exciting presentation at the VDI Wissensforum GmbH on the topic: “Future-proof intralogistics in e-commerce – decision points in logistics planning”.
The post-pandemic upswing is characterized by fluctuations, declining demand and a shortage of skilled workers, which is leading the once flourishing online retail industry into difficult waters. Under the heading “E-commerce in the acid test”, the experts, including our colleague Bastian, not only exchanged views on existing difficulties, but also highlighted innovative approaches to overcoming them. Artificial intelligence is proving to be a useful tool for minimizing forecasting errors in everyday use. Automated packaging lines also help to reduce the need for manpower. Field reports from industry insiders shed light on their practical benefits. Current efforts to develop guidelines in the online retail sector were also highlighted.
The discussion forum was moderated by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Thorsten Schmidt, VDI-Gesellschaft Produktion und Logistik (GPL), President of WGTL e.V. and holder of the Chair of Technical Logistics at TU Dresden.
Innovation meets expertise: AutoStore at the LOGSOL stand
We proudly presented another trade fair highlight that captivated many visitors: an exhibit from AutoStore.
The storage and picking system, known for its efficiency and use of space, was presented to trade fair visitors at our stand, providing an impressive demonstration of how modern technologies can revolutionize the logistics industry.
The AutoStore system was in the hands of Bastian Scheu and Christoph Kaufmann, our two experts in this field. With their extensive specialist knowledge and passion for innovative solutions, they guided the trade fair visitors through the functionality and benefits of an AutoStore. They highlighted the technical intricacies of the AutoStore system and its operational benefits. They also discussed how the system can be seamlessly integrated into existing logistics processes to ultimately increase efficiency, speed and reliability.
Overall, LOGSOL’s presentation of the AutoStore system at LogiMAT 2024 provided a fascinating insight into the future of logistics. It underlined the importance of innovation and expertise in an industry that is constantly evolving and seeking new solutions to the challenges of our time.
Already a LOGSOL highlight in 2024
LogiMAT is always an absolute highlight of the year for us. We had exciting, inspiring discussions with people from a wide range of industries. Every year, we go home with new insights into developments in the industry and innovative ideas that we can incorporate into our day-to-day work.
As the largest intralogistics trade fair in Europe, LogiMAT is the hub for networking for many visitors. It is also a great opportunity for us to meet up with project partners or old colleagues.
Save the date: Next year’s LogiMAT will take place from March 11 to 13, 2025. Of course, we will be there again and are already looking forward to the upcoming trade fair!
