LOGSOL moves people and projects
A year full of team spirit, activities and social commitment lies behind us. With “LOGSOLbewegt” in 2024, we once again proved how much we can achieve together – not only in terms of sport, but also for a good cause. With every hour that our team was active, we were able to contribute to supporting important social projects and organizations.
Over 8.000 euros for a good causek
Sport is not only an important part of a healthy lifestyle, but also an excellent way to promote community and cohesion. With our “LOGSOLbewegt” project, we have created a link at precisely this point. Our team uses an app to collect time spent exercising, which is converted into a donation (1h = EUR 2.00). After each quarter, the cumulative amount goes to a different institution.
In 2024, 4,148 hours were collected by our team. This resulted in a total donation amount of EUR 8,296 and even exceeded our performance from the previous year!
Active in sport, socially committed: “LOGSOLbewegt” promotes local heroes
The first donation recipient for 2024 was the junior DSC luge, skeleton & bobsleigh team. The department is headed by Martin Grothkopp, multiple world champion in bobsleigh. We have been supporting the Friedrich bobsleigh team, of which Martin was a member until recently, for many years. We are therefore particularly pleased to be able to provide financial support for the young athletes.
In the second quarter, we were able to transfer the donation amount to the BRH Rettungshundestaffel Mittelsachsen e.V. rescue dog team. The association and its four-legged friends help people in emergencies at any time of day or night, 365 days a year. The now 12 members put a lot of voluntary work into training the dogs and in regional campaigns (in schools or with the youth fire department) as well as search missions.
In the third quarter, we selected SG Klotzsche e.V. and its ski/biathlon department as our donation recipient. It is part of the Dresdner Sportgemeinschaft Klotzsche e.V. and a member of the Saxony Ski Association. The focus of the voluntary work is on children and young people, from which athletes regularly transfer to the national biathlon base in Altenberg. The young club members are bursting with motivation, ambition and enthusiasm for the sport and have already achieved numerous victories and awards as a result.
Our last donation partner for 2024 was Handballclub Sachsen Neustadt-Sebnitz e.V., whose club history goes back over 100 years. Its 150 members include many volunteers, trainers, stewards, referees and match officials. The club is therefore always on the lookout for financial support to cover the costs of running the club (registration fees, referee costs, sports association fees).
Achieving great things with small gestures
In addition to our sports project, there were also other wonderful campaigns that we supported:
Together with the DB team “Neues Werk Cottbus”, we took part in a Christmas wish tree campaign that benefited the Dry Lands Project e.V., a children’s home for girls in Sri Lanka, and the Käthe-Kollwitz-Haus, a children’s home in Cottbus. Christmas wishes of socially disadvantaged children were fulfilled in the form of books, cuddly toys and toys.
We also took part in a Fruitful Office fundraising campaign. All fruit baskets that were not delivered to our office over the holidays went to the St. Georg Leipzig Hospital. And if you follow us closely on social media, you will have noticed that we took part in the Sterntaler run for the Sterntaler children’s hospice.
Outlook for 2025: Together we can achieve more!
We are incredibly proud to have supported all these great projects and organizations together with our partners and employees. A big thank you to everyone who has contributed – but especially to the associations and initiatives that work every day for a better tomorrow.
We are looking forward to 2025 with great anticipation, as this year we will be celebrating the 5th anniversary of LOGSOLbewegt! We are excited to see what further positive changes our joint efforts can bring about.
